Certifications
Since December 2021, I have had the good fortune of being within the care of Dr. Lisa Fernandez, PT, DPT.
Dr. Fernandez specializes in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. I got to her after trying various other therapists, massage, therapists, acupuncturists, and physical trainers. All of whom became necessary after I sustained serious pelvic and back injuries as a result of traffic mishaps, which I will not get into here. I was at my wits end, and Dr. Fernandez came highly recommended.
As a retired professional myself, I truly admire people who take the time to master their craft, and to communicate what they are doing, and why. She is all business and takes the time to do both.
While not everything she does, is the most comfortable thing in the world; she knows the difference between necessary discomfort and unnecessary pain. Her highly skilled hands have never hurt me. That is much more than I can say about the therapists that have preceded her. She is marvelously encouraging when it is necessary to push me just a little more yet knows when to back off . She does this the most basic way possible. she asks. There is constant two-way communication during our sessions. One has her full attention. It is clear that she has a fund of knowledge quite beyond the basic anatomy. Her hands show it.
Dr. Fernandez is the very best at what she does. I would recommend her without reservation.

On Thursday after therapy, I had nothing but positive things to say when my husband asked how therapy was going.
I feel very fortunate to be able to have Lisa as my physical therapist. She is everything I thought a physical therapist would be. She listens and responds with positive reassurance. She is always explaining the cause and effect regarding anatomy which is so helpful when answering my questions. Lisa has introduced a new movement and exercise at each session being cautious that I’m ready for more. I can’t say enough about how grateful I am about how intuitive she is which makes coming to therapy so helpful and hopeful.
I’m learning so much about how to strengthen the surrounding shoulder area in order to avoid returning pain. It is getting easier to carry out my daily routine.
